Understanding Privacy Legislation
Training Sessions

September 17 - December 18, 2008
Various locations throughout Alberta
(see poster)

Is this training for me? On your job have you ever …

  • felt that ‘privacy legislation’ is too restrictive and creates a barrier to providing effective services to your clients?
  • wondered if you have the right to collect all the personal/health information that you do?

If you have answered “yes” to these questions, then this provincial training initiative can help. The one-day training sessions gives the opportunity for cross-sectoral participants to work together through a number of scenarios and learn a decision making process that they can apply to situations that they come across in their day to day work environments.

The training is offered throughout Alberta and is free to all participants. To view scheduled sessions this Fall and Winter, download the "Understanding Privacy Legislation" poster here. For more information call 780-644-1629 or email info.sharing@gov.ab.ca.

Executive Leadership in the Non-profit Sector
Grant MacEwan College

The Executive Leadership in the Non-profit Sector program was developed in response to the need for leadership development for current and future executive-director-level employees of non-profit organizations. It has been designed for those who are already working in the non-profit arena, or who are looking to move into the sector. The program will provide the learner with skills unique to the non-profit sector, teaching leadership competencies as defined by the National Learning Initiative for the Voluntary Sector.

Delivered in a hybrid model, with most of the coursework completed through distance, on-line delivery, the program will take twenty months to complete. Assignments and projects will be tailored for completion within your current work environment or with the assistance of a non-profit organization.

For more program details visit Executive Leadership in the Non-profit Sector, email  executiveleadership@macewan.ca, or call (780) 497-5268 for information.
